Duplex Oil-Lubricated Rotary Vane Priming Systems

Q-VAC’s duplex priming systems with oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps are an excellent choice for priming applications that require the highest performance, the lowest power consumption, easy installation, and the security of redundancy.  Since two vacuum pumps operate together during initial priming, smaller vacuum pumps can be selected without sacrificing performance. However, to maximize efficiency after the initial prime, only one vacuum pump runs during normal operation to restore system vacuum.  Not only does this reduce power consumption and operating costs, it also reduces the runtime on each vacuum pump to extend maintenance intervals and maximize life.  Finally, to ensure that neither vacuum pump becomes damaged due to non-use, the controls are designed to operate each vacuum pump in a lead-lag fashion and automatically alternate duty to balance the run hours.

Oil-lubricated rotary vane systems are our customer’s most common selection.  This technology has been used successfully for both clean water and wastewater applications, however, it is especially well suited for clean water projects installed indoors.

Q-VAC’s QVD-series is designed for reliability, low maintenance, and ease of use.  Standard sizes are offered to 10 HP, but larger sizes are available.  All standard simplex rotary vane priming systems are capable of over 29” HgV and include PLC controls and our popular AutoPurge feature.
